Professional Background My initial training and vocation was in working with young children. For thirty years I worked in Nurseries and Infant Schools, which has given me practical and theoretical understanding of our primary needs. When I retrained as a therapist I came to understand the ways in which our early experiences form us and continue to impact our adult lives, and how these might be worked with. I have specific experience of working with: People who have suffered Bereavement (City and East London Bereavement Service). Artists - issues facing artists, musicians and creative artists and the valuable contribution creativity can make to therapeutic work. I have worked with people from a wide range of ethnicity; with refugees and migrants, and I have in-depth experience and understanding of second generation issues of identity. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures and sexual orientations. Qualifications: Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (Mary Ward Centre) Bereavement training (City and East London Bereavement Service) Post Graduate Certificate of Education (Infants) BA (Hons) Fine Art Professional Registration: I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I hold a current DBS certificate and my work is fully insured and underpinned by regular clinical supervision. |
